JOHN J. LAVORATO
Chief Operating Officer
Enron Americas

John J. Lavorato is chief operating officer of Enron Americas and focuses on risk management and trading. Mr. Lavorato relocated from Enron Canada to Houston in June 2000. He is also a member of Enron's Executive Committee.

Mr. Lavorato joined Enron in 1993 as an associate working on structuring and price derivative products for marketers. In 1994, he moved to Calgary and performed many functions for Enron Canada that included leading the trading operation from January 1995 and the origination business from January 1998. After successfully increasing the number of natural gas trades per day by 650 percent and increasing the natural gas volumes by more than 600 percent, he assumed the role of president and CEO of Enron Canada Corp. Previously, Mr. Lavorato was manager of risk management for Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).

Mr. Lavorato received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Western Ontario in 1989 and a master's degree with distinction in management from Northwestern University - Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
