MIKE S. McCONNELL
President & Chief Executive Officer
Enron Global Markets

Mike S. McConnell was appointed to the position of president and chief executive officer for Enron Global Markets in August 2000. His responsibility includes running the business unit which includes the following trading and origination businesses for Enron: Crude & Products, Coal, Emissions, Global Risk Management (Insurance), Weather, Equities Trading, F/X and Interest Rates. He is a member of Enron's Executive Committee.

Mr. McConnell's previous position was vice chairman and chief operating officer for Enron Net Works. He had responsibility for operating this business unit, which combines Enron's global technology and market making capabilities to create electronic businesses and market places. Before moving to Enron Net Works, Mr. McConnell was chief executive officer - Global Technology. His areas of responsibility included all of Information Technology and eCommerce for Enron Corp. Prior to Global Technology, Mr. McConnell was president of Houston Pipe Line Company (HPL) and Louisiana Resources Company (LRC) where he was responsible for natural gas and transmission assets in North America. Prior to being appointed president of Houston Pipe Line Company, Mr. McConnell was a vice president for Enron Europe in London. In addition, he has also held positions in the Enron Power Services and Gas Supply and Marketing areas of Enron. He has worked in the energy industry for more than 16 years including positions as a landman, various gas supply and marketing positions as well as being the vice president and a principal for an independent natural gas company.

Mr. McConnell earned his bachelor's degree in petroleum land management with an emphasis in law from the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Price Business School Board of Advisors for the Energy Management Program at the University of Oklahoma. He is also currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Mr. McConnell has previously held positions as a member of the Board of Directors for the Houston Energy Association and served as vice chairman for the Texas Intrastate Pipeline Association, as well as a member of the Board of Directors for Enron Europe and Teesside Gas Transportation Limited (TGTL - a joint venture between Enron and ICI). Mr. McConnell is also active in his church and enjoys art collecting, golf and skiing.
