Executive Bio

Richard B. Buy is an executive vice president and chief risk officer of Enron with specific responsibility for identifying quantifying and controlling risks in both Enron's trading activities and investment opportunities. Additionally, Mr. Buy is responsible for managing the overall portfolio of Enron investments with the goal of tracking investment returns and controlling exposures to various risks at the portfolio level. Mr. Buy manages the Risk Assessment and Control Division of Enron, which reports to the Office of the Chairman of Enron and is outside of any of the operating groups or profit centers. Mr. Buy also serves on Enron's Management Committee.

Prior to joining Enron in April 1994, Mr. Buy was a vice president at Bankers Trust in both New York and Houston where he was involved in various facets of the energy lending and trading businesses.

Mr. Buy has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a master's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Houston. Mr. Buy holds series 7, 16 and 24 licenses from the National Association of Securities Dealers and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
