ENRON BOARD DIRECTOR JOE H. FOY RETIRES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, May 2, 2000
HOUSTON -- The Board of Directors of Enron Corp. announced today the retirement of Joe H. Foy, who has served on Enron’s board since 1985.
“Joe has been an invaluable member of Enron’s board and the board of one of our predecessor companies,” said Kenneth L. Lay, Enron chairman and CEO. “His leadership and insight have helped advance Enron’s vision and success over the past 30 years. On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank Joe for his incredible commitment and contribution to Enron, and we wish him well in his retirement.”
Foy, 73, is a former president of Houston Natural Gas Corporation, which merged with InterNorth in 1985 to create Enron. Foy had served on the Houston Natural Board from 1970 until the merger. Foy is a retired partner of Bracewell & Patterson, L.L.P. and also is a director of Central and South West Corporation.
