Press Release

WEBCASTS.COM AND ENRON BROADBAND SERVICES SIGN TWO-YEAR AGREEMENT TO DELIVER CONTENT ON ENRON NETWORK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, March 9, 2000

HOUSTON - Enron Broadband Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enron Corp. and a leader in the delivery of high-bandwidth application services, announced today it has signed a two-year contract with webcasts.com, a pioneer in the production and delivery of interactive Internet broadcasting, to deliver webcasts.com’s next-generation rich media content on Enron’s broadband optimized optical network.

Under terms of the agreement, webcasts.com can utilize Enron Broadband Services’ network and ePowered™ Media Cast to deliver multifaceted rich media offerings, including synchronized video, audio, text, animation, graphics, e-commerce and two-way chat with guaranteed quality of service and speeds up to 50 times faster than the public Internet.

“Readily available, high-quality bandwidth capacity is an essential ingredient to the new age of broadband content that is being made available over the Internet,” said Joe Hirko, CEO of Enron Broadband Services. “Our broadband solutions provide webcasts.com and others with the necessary quality of service to ensure that their content is delivered in a way that maximizes end-users’ enjoyment and consumption of the content.”

“Enron’s ePowered Media Cast was designed with streaming media delivery in mind and is a strong complement to our own delivery network,” said Scott Klososky, CEO of webcasts.com. “As webcasts.com continues to grow, we are running more and more traffic over our own network. Our access to Enron’s network and bandwidth will ensure that we meet our clients’ highest levels of demand and highest quality expectations.”

ePowered Media Cast is optimized for streaming rich media and achieves its enhanced performance by directing content across Enron’s optical Enron Intelligent Network™. The content is accessible from server points that are closer to desktop users, and Enron’s advanced control system monitors and manages the data flowing across the network. The end result is an enhanced desktop viewing experience with virtually error-free bit rates and uninterrupted traffic flow.
