Technology for All (TFA) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to overcome the "Digital Divide" by creating educational and economic opportunities for the disadvantaged through access to technology. TFA's goal is to ensure that America's underserved youth are presented with opportunities they need to succeed in the digital age.
TFA and Enron are working together to deliver applications and educational content to existing community centers - in partnership with Computer Technology Centers Network and HUD's Neighborhood Networks Program - in seventy-five North American cities connected to Enron's network.
To ensure that all TFA-affiliated technology centers have consistent, high-speed Internet access, Enron Broadband Services (EBS) is providing the connectivity infrastructure that will link each community technology center to the TFA digital library. The Enron Intelligent and embedded intelligence to provide virtually unlimited bandwidth, maximum efficiency and absolute reliability for content delivered into the technology centers.
Working in collaboration, TFA and EBS will create a Digital Library of software applications and educational content that will be available to all TFA-affiliated community technology centers. This approach offers the distinct advantage of reducing both the cost and technical complexity of continually upgrading software and educational content on individual PCs. The EIN can also carry high-quality streaming video and sound for special educational presentations and videoconferencing.
