FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 11, 1996

HOUSTON -- Enron Capital & Trade Resources Corp. (ECT), a subsidiary of Enron Corp., announced today the appointment of John C. Gorman as president of ECT Canada Corp. in Calgary. With more than 25 years of experience in global finance, Mr. Gorman will continue to strengthen ECT’s presence as a provider of physical and financial services in the Canadian energy market.

“John has long been recognized as a leader in the Calgary business community,” said Jeffrey K. Skilling, chairman and CEO of ECT. “He brings invaluable industry knowledge and financial expertise to our Canadian operations.”

Gorman joins ECT from Bank of Montreal, where he held a variety of assignments in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, Singapore, London and Mexico City. For the last seven years, he was senior vice president of Corporate and Institutional Finance of the bank in Calgary. Prior to his career at Bank of Montreal, Gorman was affiliated with Nesbitt Thomson in Ottawa.

Mr. Gorman holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Ottawa and an M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario.
