FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, October 11, 1996

HOUSTON -- Enron Corp. announced today that Cindy K. Olson has been named vice president of Corporate Affairs

Olson's responsibilities include overseeing activities associated with corporate giving, memberships and volunteerism, as well as directing Enron's elementary and secondary educational initiatives. Olson also will devote a significant amount of time to community and civic fundraising.

"Cindy's broad-based knowledge of Enron's business operations and her track record as a volunteer complement Enron's long-standing commitment to the community at large," said Kenneth L. Lay, Enron chairman and chief executive officer.

Olson joined Enron in 1979 in the Northern Natural Gas Corporate Auditing Department.

Olson serves on the executive finance committee of the Southern Gas Association and on the board of directors of the Houston Chapter of Juvenile Diabetes. She holds a B.S. degree in business administration and accounting from Wichita State University in Kansas.
