ENRON CAPITAL TRUST I ANNOUNCES DIVIDENDS ON TRUST PREFERRED SECURITIES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, December 19, 1996

HOUSTON -- Enron Capital Trust I, a Delaware statutory business trust, announced today the declaration of a dividend of $.23056 on the Enron Capital Trust I 8.30% Trust Originated Preferred Securities, payable December 31, 1996 to holders of record as of December 30, 1996. The dividends accrue from November 21, 1996, the date of original issuance of the preferred securities. The annual dividend is equivalent to $2.075 per preferred security.
