CITRUS CORP./FLORIDA GAS TRANSMISSION NAMES ROCKFORD G. MEYER PRESIDENT EFFECTIVE MAY 1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: April 17, 1996

HOUSTON -- At a recent meeting of the Board of Directors of Citrus Corp./Florida Gas Transmission Company, which is jointly owned by Enron Corp. and Sonat Inc., Rockford G. Meyer was named president of the company and elected to its Board of Directors effective May 1, 1996.

Meyer will succeed William V. Allison who, as announced on March 22, 1996, has been appointed president of Enron Liquids Pipeline Company, the general partner of Enron Liquids Pipeline, L.P.

Meyer, a 1973 graduate of the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a B.A. in political science, received his J.D. degree from Creighton University School of Law in 1976. After joining Enron's Northern Natural Gas Pipeline Company in 1984, Meyer held several positions within Enron's corporate legal staff before his most recent appointment as vice president, regulatory affairs and general counsel for Transwestern Pipeline Company, an Enron Corp. affiliate.

Florida Gas Transmission Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Citrus Corp., was formed in 1958 to bring natural gas reserves in Texas to the state of Florida. The original, 1,480 mile mainline was completed in 1959. Since that time the pipeline has been expanded to its current size of approximately 5,245 miles.
