ENRON CORP. NAMES JOSEPH R. HARTSOE VICE PRESIDENT, FEDERAL REGULATORY AFFAIRS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, May 28, 1996

HOUSTON -- Enron Corp. announced today that Joseph R. Hartsoe has been named Vice President, Federal Regulatory Affairs for Enron Pipeline Company. Hartsoe will continue his current responsibilities of representing Enron subsidiaries, Transwestern Pipeline Company (TW), Northern Natural Gas Company (NNG), Florida Gas Transmission Company (FGT) and Northern Plains Natural Gas Company (NPNG), in matters within the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) jurisdiction. In addition, Hartsoe will represent Enron Capital & Trade Resources in electric matters before the FERC.

Hartsoe joined Enron in 1989 as senior counsel for FGT and TW. He was promoted to assistant general counsel for FGT in 1990. In 1991, Hartsoe was named federal regulatory counsel for Enron Corp., a position he held until his most recent appointment.

Hartsoe, a native of Annandale, Virginia, received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Davidson College, a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and a master's degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center.
