ENRON RECEIVES CORPORATE CONSCIENCE AWARD
FROM COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC PRIORITIES

HOUSTON -- Enron announced today that it is
the proud recipient of the Corporate Conscience Award for Environmental
Stewardship sponsored by the Council on Economic Priorities (CEP).
For the past 10 years, CEP has recognized
companies that exemplify a commitment to corporate social responsibility
through responsiveness to employees; equal opportunity employment;
community involvement; environmental stewardship; and, international
human rights.

Enron, along with other recipients such as
Pfizer, Inc., Hewlett Packard and Starbucks Coffee, will accept
its award at the Council's 10th anniversary dinner on Tuesday,
June 4 in New York City.
The Council on Economic Priorities is a public
service research organization dedicated to accurate and impartial
analysis of the social and environmental records of corporations.
